Should I Mulch my garden bed?

Mulching around the plants can help the surrounding soil retain moisture and prevent root systems from drying up. When Mulching, make sure to leave space around the stem of your plants to prevent mold formation on the stem.

How far apart should I Sow my Seeds?

The spacing of your seeds is specific to the plants that you are growing. Refer to our Know & Grow Guide for plant specific information.

What Soil should I use in my Raised Garden Bed?

We recommend using a 1:1 mixture of compost/manure and light potting soil/screened topsoil for raised garden beds. Kellogg Raised Garden Bed & Potting Mix, Bonnie Harvest Select Raised Bed Soil, and Miracle Gro Potting Mix are all great options to fill Raised Beds. The key is to have a light soil mix, with the appropriate pH and plenty of nutrients. 

 DO NOT USE heavy soils that contain large amounts of clay, gravel or sand.

Should I Fertilize my Soil throughout the Season?

Yes! Lawn clippings, decomposed leaves, worm castings, peat moss, and manure can be added to your garden twice a year to improve soil nutrients.

How can I extend my growing season?
1. Cold Frame Greenhouse Attachment - Trap heat and accomodate warm season plants later into the season.
2. Frost Blanket - Placing a light weight cover over your cool season plants will prevent frost formation that can damage leaf structure.
3. Start Indoors - Starting your seedlings indoors can help get a head start on the warm season while the weather is still cold outside.
How do I attract Beneficial Insects to my garden?
By planting certain plants in your garden you can attract various beneficial insects. Refer to page 30 of Frame it All's Raised Gardening Guide for how to attract common beneficial insects.
How often should I water my garden?
The water demand of your garden is specific to the plant and your local requirements. If your area receives or has received a heavy amount of rain recently, then you will not need to water as much. For general water requirements of common garden plants, refer to our Know & Grow Guide Chart .
How do I raise soil pH levels?
To raise your soil's pH add a granular form of lime at a rate of 0.5lv/100 sq. ft. Test your pH levels in 6-month and repeat the process to continue raising.
How can I prevent weeds in my garden?
Weeds can be prevented in several ways including organic and chemical solutions. To avoid adding chemical control elements to your garden, we recommend putting down mulch around the stems of your plants or laying weedblocker underlayment down at the base of your garden bed before filling with soil.
 
 

Composite Raised Garden Beds

Do Frame it All Raised Garden Bed Boards insulate the garden bed?

Yes. Frame it All Raised Garden Bed boards have a hollow profile that traps air, acting as an excellent layer of insulation for your garden soil and root systems.

Can I Spray Weed Blocker on Frame it All Composite Garden?

Yes. Weed blocker will have no effect on the composite material.

Can I connect 1 Inch Profile and 2 Inch Profile Boards together?

No. 1 Inch and 2 Inch profile boards use different size brackets that are not compatible with each other.

How High can I stack Frame it All Composite Boards?

We recommend stacking 2 Inch Profile Boards up to 6 boards high (33 Inches) and 1 Inch profile boards up to 4 boards high (22 Inches).

What does the Profile of the Board refer to?

The Profile of the board refers to the thickness. Frame it All currently offers a 1 Inch Profile board and a 2 Inch Profile board.

What are Frame it All Composite Boards made of?

Our composite boards are made of a mixture of recycled HDPE plastic (38%) and sustainably sourced hardwood fibers (62%). 

What kind of plastic are Frame it All Composite products made from?

All Frame it All Composite products are made from recycled HDPE that comes from recycled milk jugs and shampoo bottles. 

Should I build my garden bed on a level surface?
Yes. For the best structural performance of your Raised garden Bed, you should install on a level surface or create a level surface to install on.
How much does each Composite Garden Board weigh?

1 Inch Profile boards weight 4 pounds and 2 Inch Profile boards weigh 5 pounds.

What angle can the Snap-Lock brackets rotate to?


Frame it All Snap-Lock Brackets can rotate 270 degrees. The smallest angle they can close is 30 degrees.

Can I add addition levels to my garden after I fill with soil?

Yes! Frame it All modular raised garden beds are designed to allow you to add onto your existing garden year after year to meet your changing needs.

Can I extend out my garden after I have filled with soil?

Yes! By removing the stakes of a corner joint you can swing out the boards of your garden bed and add more boards or adjust the shape of your existing bed.

What tools do I need to assemble my Metal Raised Garden bed?
All tools and hardware required for installation are included with each Metal Raised Garden Bed kit. For faster installation, a power drill with a phillips head bit can be used. 
What kind of metal are the beds?
Frame it All Metal Raised garden beds are made of galvanized steel with an aluminum-zinc coating.
Where can I purchase VegHerb Metal Raised Garden Beds in store?

No. The the AluZinc coating protects the metal from rust and other forms of corrosion.
Does this Metal Garden leech chemicals into the soil?
No harmful chemicals are leeched into the soil. Argicultural-grade paint is used as the final coating which is safe to plant and grow edibles in.
Is this Metal Garden Reyclable?
Yes, most metal recycling plants would be capable of recycling this garden bed.
What does 9-in-1 or 6-in-1 mean?

9-in-1 and 6-in-1 refer to how many different configurations are possible with just one kit. For example, a 9-in-1 garden kit allows you to choose from 9 different configurations with just 1 kit.

Can kits stack on top of each other?
No. Kits cannot be combined to create a taller garden bed.

Are these garden beds bottomless?
Yes VegHerb Metal Garden Beds have no bottom.
Can I dig the metal into the ground?

Landscape Edging & Playground Borders

Can I stack the edging boards for a taller edging?
Yes the boards can be stacked to 2-levels for an 11-Inch height edging or playground border.
Can I use this as a Retaining Wall?
Our edging can be used to conatin light materials such as playground safety material however it is not meant to be used as a retaining wall for heavy materials such as gravel, soil, or sand. 
Will a weedwacker scratch the boards?
No, Frame it All edging and borders are made of a durable composite material that will not scratch from weedwackers.
Can I dig the boards into the ground?
Yes!
Do I need to dig a trench for the edging boards?
No, Frame it All edging can be installed directly onto the ground however it can be dug into the ground.
What is the Finishing Sleeve used for?
The finishing sleeve included with all landscape edging and playground border kits is used at the end of an edging section to cover the portion of exposed stake on the last joint. This piece only serves an aesthetic function.
Can I use Stacking Stakes for the ground level of my edging?
No. When using Frame it All boards for edging applications, anchor stakes should be used for the ground level and stacking stakes used for the second level if stacking.
What is the Length of each board?
Each board has a length of 4ft center joint to center joint once brackets are attached.
 

Veggie Wall Trellis

Does Frame it All offer a Trellis Attachment?
Yes! The poles of our Veggie Wall Trellis kit insert directly into the joints of any Frame it All raised garden bed.
How tall is the Veggie Wall Trellis when assembled?

How many Linear Feet of Veggie Wall Trellis come with each kit?

Can I stack 2 Veggie Wall kits on top of each other?
We do not recommend stacking Veggie Wall kits on top of each other as the height would make for an unstable structure.
Can the Veggie Wall support heavy vines like Melons?
Yes! The Veggie Wall can support vining melons such as Cantaloupe and Honeydew. As the melons grow larger on the trellis, we recommend adding a sling or other support around the melon to prevent the stem from becoming overstressed and tearing.
Can I stack  Veggie Wall onto an Animal Barrier Fence?
Yes, our Veggie Wall kit can stack into the joints of our Animal Barrier Fence.
What Material is the Veggie Wall made of?
The poles of the Veggie Wall are stainless steel and the trellis netting is made of nylon netting.

Can my plants grow up the Netting of the Animal Barrier Kit?

No, the included green stakes are only used for in-ground installation. Using them when installing onto a Raised Garden Bed will result in the greenhouse cover not extending past the edge of the bed.
Can this Greenhouse install directly onto my Raised Garden?
Yes, the poles of the greenhouse kit are designed to insert directly into the joints of any Frame it All garden bed.
How tall is the Greenhouse?
When assembled, the greenhosue is 21-Inches tall.
What are the dimensions of the Greenhouse?

Can I connect Greenhouses together?
Yes, the side panel of the greenhouse cover can be removed to allow for mutliple greenhouses to be connected in a row.

The side vents are meant to be opened on warm days to prevent excessive heat build up.
 

Worm it All Composter

Does Frame it All offer a Composter?
Yes! The Worm it All Composter insert directly into the soil of you Raised Garden Bed. 
What can I put into my Composter?
Newspaper, cardboard, plant-based kitchen scraps, egg shells, lawn clippings, dead leaves.
Do not put any animal products such as meat, milk, fish or otherwise.
Should the holes of the Composter be above the soil level?
No, all holes of the composter should be below the soil level.
How many Composters should I put into my garden?
This depends on how big your garden is. For full coverage, we recommend installing a Worm it All Composter for every 16 sq. ft. of gardening space.
How does Vermicomposting work and what is it?
Vermicomposting is the composting method of using worms to break down organic material into nutrient-rich compost. Earthworms will ingest the organic material and leave behind their waste, referred to as castings, as they travel around your garden. Worm castings are great for healthy plant development and are a common additive for garden beds.
Do I need to cover my Composting material with soil?
It is recommended to add some soil on top of the organic material to prevent fruit flies and allow a medium for the earthworms to travel through.
Do I need to add Worms to my Composter?
For in-ground installation you generally do not need to add worms to your composter as they will find their way to the organic material. For hard surface garden beds, you will need to add earthworms to your garden bed otherwise they won't be able to get their on their own!
What type of Worms are used for Vermicomposting?
Red Wrigglers and Red Worms.
Should I add moisture to my Composter?
If you notice that the soil or organic material in your Worm Composter is dry, we recommend adding some water to it.
 

Shipping, Returns, Replacements

How does my order ship to me?

Depending on the size of your order, it will either ship Fedex Home Delivery as individual packages or Less Than Truckload (LTL). If your order is shipping LTL, the product will be packed onto a pallet for delivery. Before shipping out your LTL shipment, we will email you to confirm that you can receive a pallet shipment. 

How long will it take for my order to arrive?
Orders placed on Frameitall.com take 1-2 business days to ship out and take 1-5 days in transit depending on your location in the United States. West Coast orders will take 3-5 days adn East Coast orders will take 1-3 days in transit.
What happens if my order is lost during delivery or arrives damaged?

Product that is lost or damaged during transit will be replaced. Send all delivery error replacement requests to [email protected]. For damages, please include pictures of the product in the packaging so we can submit a complete claim to the shipping provider. All claims must be made within 30 days of delivery. 

How do I check if what I want is in stock?

You can check available inventory and incoming inventory by contacting [email protected].

Can I return my order once it has shipped?

All orders can be returned within 30 days of delivery however a 15% restocking fee will be taken out of the refund amount and the customer will be responsible for the cost of shipping it back to Frame it All facilities. Before sending an order for return, please notify [email protected] with your order number and the items that you are returning.
