Possible Side Effects
Please contact your veterinarian immediately if you notice any of the following reactions: discharge from the eye, redness of the eye, squinting or other signs related to the eye.
Drug & Food Interactions
Notify your vet of any other medications, including vitamins and supplements, your pet is taking before using Sulfasalazine. Sulfasalazine may decrease the absorption of digoxin (blood pressure support). Sulfasalazine may also decrease the absorption of folate (folic acid). Other drug interactions may occur.
Precautions
Not for use in pets who are hypersensitive (allergic) to it, other sulfa medications or aspirin. Use caution in pregnant or lactating pets. May decrease fertility in males. Do not use in pets with intestinal obstruction or urinary obstruction. Use with caution in cases of anemia, liver disease or kidney disease.
